Ngorongoro Crater & Tarangire Combo
Two of Tanzania’s most iconic parks in one compact five-day journey. Tarangire’s ancient baobab trees and massive elephant...
Diani Beach is regularly voted among Africa’s finest beaches — twenty kilometres of powder-white sand, a warm turquoise lagoon, and a protective coral reef teeming with marine life. This relaxed five-day escape combines pure beach downtime with optional excursions: snorkeling in the Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park, a traditional dhow sunset cruise with fresh grilled seafood, and a visit to the Colobus Conservation Centre to meet Kenya’s endangered coastal primates.
Short morning flight from Wilson Airport in Nairobi to Ukunda airstrip — one hour that saves you a full day on the road. Meet your driver for the 20-minute transfer south to your beachfront resort. Check in, throw on swimwear, and dive straight into the Indian Ocean — the water is 27°C year-round, the coral reef 300 metres offshore, and the lagoon between so calm you can float on your back for hours. Sundowners on the deck as fishing dhows sail past silhouetted against the sky.
Morning at leisure — sleep in, breakfast in bed, or take a beach yoga class. Late morning, visit the Colobus Conservation Centre, a community-run sanctuary that rescues Angolan black-and-white colobus and other coastal primates injured by cars or electrocuted by unshielded power lines. Meet resident recoveries on the guided walk and understand what tree-planting and rope-bridge programs achieve. Return to the resort for lunch and a long, lazy afternoon by the pool or on the sand.
Full-day traditional dhow trip to Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Reserve — one of the finest coral gardens on the East African coast. The 90-minute sail south is often broken by dolphin sightings (spinner, bottlenose, and rarely humpbacks in season). Anchor in crystal-clear water above vast coral heads teeming with butterflyfish, parrotfish, moray eels and sea turtles. Fresh seafood lunch prepared on Wasini Island — grilled reef fish, coconut rice, and mango salad — followed by a walk through the island's mangrove boardwalk. Return under sail in golden light.
Choose your own adventure: try kite-surfing (Diani's warm consistent winds make it a world-class spot), take a full-body Swahili massage in the spa, borrow a stand-up paddleboard, or do absolutely nothing at all. Late afternoon, board a traditional wooden dhow for a two-hour sunset cruise, canapés and cocktails in hand, dolphin-spotting the whole way. Dinner is served candlelit on the sand as the moon rises over the ocean.
Sleep late, one last swim, and a leisurely breakfast on the deck. Transfer to Ukunda airstrip for your return flight to Nairobi in time for onward international connections. If you're extending your stay, we can arrange direct flights to Nairobi's Wilson Airport for a same-day connection to safari camps in the Mara or Amboseli.
