Scenic 6-hour drive south through Rwanda's terraced 'land of a thousand hills'. Lunch stop in Butare with a visit to the Ethnographic Museum — East Africa's finest. Long transfer north (7 hours) to Musanze at the foot of the Virunga volcanoes. Evening cultural experience at your lodge — traditional Intore dance performance by a professional troupe, followed by a hearty Rwandan feast.
