Spice Farm & Prison Island Day Tour

Morning spice farm tour with a farmer guide — Zanzibar earned its 'Spice Islands' name from this trade, and you'll crush leaves, scrape bark, and unearth roots to smell cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, ylang-ylang, vanilla, and nutmeg fresh from the source. Traditional Swahili lunch prepared by the farmer's family, complete with pilau rice cooked over an open fire. Afternoon guided walking tour of Stone Town — the Sultan's Palace, the Old Fort, the poignant Slave Market memorial, and the labyrinth of narrow alleys lined with elaborately carved wooden doors.

Morning boat trip to Prison Island (Changuu) — a five-minute crossing to a coral islet with a colonial-era prison building and a colony of enormous Aldabra tortoises, some over 180 years old. Snorkel in the surrounding marine reserve. Return to Stone Town for lunch and transfer to Zanzibar airport for departure.
